25 YEARS INSOMNIO! Chambermusic @ Leeuwenbergh

Als onderdeel van het festival presenteert Insomnio in samenwerking met TivoliVredenburg en Concertlab Leeuwenbergh haar nieuwe kamermuziekreeks. Verwacht een avond vol composities waarin emotioneel contact tegenover fysieke afstand wordt geplaatst. Een thema dat ons tegenwoordig allemaal maar al te bekend voorkomt. Je hoort zeven heel verschillende stukken van bijna alle musici van Insomnio in ongewone kamermuziek bezettingen. ‘Danza de los voladores’ van James Wood - geschreven voor Insomnio - gaat in wereldpremière, net als 'Uilenserenade' van onze eigen altviolist Siebe Visser. Een nieuwe compositie van de oude vriend van het ensemble, Jukka Tiensuu, krijgt zijn Nederlandse première en meer….

As part of the festival, Insomnio will kick-off their new chamber music series in collaboration with TivoliVredenburg and Concertlab Leeuwenbergh. The first concert of many more to come. Expect an evening of full of compositions juxtaposing emotional contact versus physical distance. A theme much too familiar to all of us nowadays. Feeling each other while trying to avoid contact like the Mexican voladores, suffering collateral loss by distance, trying to get in contact with technical means and departing physically but hopefully not emotionally are central topics in this program. You will hear seven very different pieces by almost all INSOMNIO’s musicians in uncommon chamber music settings. ‘Danza de los voladores’ by James Wood - written for INSOMNIO - will have its world premiere as will ‘Uilenserenade’ by our own viola player Siebe Visser. A new composition by the ensemble’s long time friend Jukka Tiensuu will get it’s Dutch premiere and more….
